Pharmacological effects of 0.3g, 0.6g Carbasalate Calcium
Carbasalate Calcium is a white crystalline powder with a slightly bitter taste and is easily soluble in water. It is a complex of calcium acetylsalicylate and urea. Its metabolic characteristics and pharmacological effects are the same as those of aspirin. Rapid oral absorption, rapid onset of action, high bioavailability, metabolism by the liver, renal excretion. It has stronger antipyretic and analgesic effects, less adverse reactions, and almost no stimulation to the gastrointestinal mucosa.
Pharmacokinetics of Carbasalate Calcium
Carbasalate Calcium is rapidly absorbed after oral administration, and its bioavailability is higher than that of aspirin. The mean peak value of salicylate in plasma was 72.2μg/ml after oral administration of Carbasalate Calcium for 1h, while the peak value of ordinary aspirin after 2h was only 67.7μg/ml. Widely bound to plasma proteins and rapidly distributed throughout the body.
Indications of Carbasalate Calcium are
clinically used for cold and fever, headache, toothache, neuralgia, muscle pain, menstrual pain, rheumatism and rheumatoid arthritis, and for the prevention of transient ischemic attack, myocardial infarction or postoperative thrombosis form.
